We will be working on a section trail near Webb Gap. This will include signing, clearing vegetation and tread work. We will also be flagging an unfinished section of trail. This section will receive more work in a couple weeks from the Rocky Mountain Youth Corps.
This section of trail is north of Anthony Gap, Highway 404. The gravel road in is rough and requires a high clearance vehicle or 4×4. There will be trucks available to get a ride in.
If you want to carpool from Las Cruces: meet at 8am at Milagro’s Coffee on University
You can also meet us at the trailhead off of Highway 404. We should arrive there by 8:30am. The trailhead is on the north side of the highway and marked with a large Sierra Vista Trail sign. It next to the white, gas pipeline and a white, metal gate.
Please bring water, snacks, appropriate work attire and anything else you need personally. Bring tools if you have them. McCleods, picks, rakes, shovels and vegetation loppers work best. SNMTA will also provide tools.
This trail day is made possible by a partnership with the Friends of the Organ Mountains Desert Peaks National Monument and the Bureau of Land Management – Las Cruces District
