Let it heretofore be known as the San Patricio Ascent!
Who? You.
What? The Event Formerly Known as the San Patricio Trail Ten Thousand.
Where? The steep and epic trail to the Twin Sisters, north of Pinos Altos, NM.
When? Saturday, March 14, 2015, at 9 AM sharp.
Why? Because we love the holy trinity of trail running, wild country, and good people.
Mark your calendars for your date with the Sisters. Distance: less than or equal to ten miles. Profile: Gustbusting mountain run to the lofty heights, followed by a descent toward a steaming bowl of corned beef and cabbage, washed down with a flagon of Guinness Stout. (Unless you’re too young for the stout.) Fee: Free but fiercely competitive; no marshals, no T-shirts, almost no flagging. Awards: A lone, classy prize to the stout soul who crosses the finish line first. Starting line: The Arrastra site along NM 15 about 8 miles north of historic downtown Silver City. The vibe: The real deal.
