The November Monumental Trails Day will be a partnership with Cruceño Cleanup. SNMTA has been partnering with Cruceño Cleanup since March to clean up the ditch trail network throughout Las Cruces. This month we are teaming up, along with our partner the Friends, on Tortugas “A” Mountain for a joint clean up and trail maintenance day.
Volunteers will have their choice of general trail maintenance on Tortugas Mountain trails or a trash cleanup at the trailhead and along Dripping Springs Road, or you can help with both! This volunteer day is part of the Monumental Trails Program in partnership with Southern New Mexico Trail Alliance and Friends of the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks
When: November 19, 2016 8am-12pm
Where: Tortugas “A” Mountain – Monte Vista Parking area (east side)
Volunteers will meet at the Monte Vista Parking area off Dripping Springs Rd at 8 AM. We will work until 12PM but anyone can show up or leave as they wish. No experience is needed. Tools, supplies, water, and guidance will be provided. Please wear work clothes and bring gloves, food, personal items and tools you like to use.
Directions: From Interstate 25, head east on University/Dripping Springs Rd. Go straight through the light at Sonoma Ranch Rd and after a bend the trailhead will be on the right (south) side of the road. Look for the Monte Vista Parking area sign.
