The April trail day, part of the Monumental Trails Program with Friends, will be held April 30 on the Sierra Vista Trail. south of the Talavera trail head to the Fenceline. This section is approximately 3 miles. The day will consist of general trail maintenance such as clipping back vegetation, improving drainage, delineating the trail and repairing degraded sections of trail. This is a continuation of the trail day in February.
Meet at the Talavera trailhead on Soledad Canyon Road at 8 AM. There will be a sign in and overview of the work and methods before the work begins. We will work until 1 or 2 PM but volunteers can show up or leave as they wish. No experience is needed.
Directions: Follow Dripping Springs road east towards the Organ Mountains, turn right on Soledad Canyon Rd (at the big Talavera sign), this road makes a hard left and goes towards the mountains again, the trailhead and parking will be on the right (south) side of the road.
