Trail Talk
On July 15, 2019, SNMTA convened a Trail Talk at the Southwest Environmental Center in downtown Las Cruces. The conversation continued the efforts of the Doña Ana County Trail Summit.
Trail Talk was an opportunity for land managers, planners, organizations, and trail users to discuss upcoming projects, overall plans and visions for trails, and future ideas for trails, collaboration, and connectivity, and to ask and answer questions about projects and new/upcoming management changes that affect trails. Overall it was a great time for everyone to meet each other, discuss trails, and grow our local trail community.
We learned a lot is going on with all kinds of trails and outdoor recreation in Las Cruces and Doña Ana County. This includes trails in the City under the Go Bond funding, a new Parks and Rec master plan for the City of Las Cruces, and new Wilderness Areas.
We will continue this conversation with another Trail Talk in January 2020.
