Las Cruces Active Transportation Plan – Input Needed
CITY COUNCIL WORK SESSION – ACTIVE TRANSPORTATION PLAN
The City of Las Cruces has been working with a consultant over the past year to develop an Active Transportation Plan (ATP) for the city. Active Transportation is any mode of getting yourself around other than a motor vehicle, including bicycle, pedestrian, and transit (bus and rail). The Southern New Mexico Trail Alliance has been participating in this effort by serving on the Bicycle Friendly Community Task Force and as a stakeholder at the ATP input sessions. SNMTA has stressed the importance of connectivity to trails and open space within and outside of the city, specifically the paths along irrigation canals.
The Las Cruces City Council will be holding a joint work session with the City’s Planning and Zoning Commission to discuss the draft ATP. If you cannot attend the work session, you can provide feedback online at the link below.

More information about the ATP can be found here: https://www.activelascruces.com/get-involved/ .
The comment period will run from August 7 through September 4th.
The ATP will steer the City and community to develop more bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure such as multi-use paths, bike lanes, pedestrian friendly streets, non-motorized connections to parks and trails, and mass transportation. Your input is vital to making this effort a success. Please attend the work session or provide feedback online.
